A tragic road accident in Bihar’s Kishanganj district claimed the lives of three people and left another injured on Friday night, police reported on Saturday. The incident occurred when a speeding car collided with a motorcycle near Khaikhat, in the jurisdiction of Bahadurganj Police Station.
The deceased have been identified as Mohammad Shadab, Mohammad Nazir, and Shah Alam. According to local reports, all three died on the spot, while one other individual sustained injuries and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital. The families of the deceased are in deep mourning, particularly as Shah Alam had recently married on January 24, adding to the grief of his young bride and relatives.
After the collision, local residents immediately informed the police. A team from Bahadurganj Police Station reached the scene, managed the situation, and sent the bodies to Kishanganj Sadar Hospital for post-mortem examination. Sub-Divisional Police Officer Gautam Kumar confirmed that legal action has been initiated and efforts are underway to trace the driver of the speeding car.

The police have registered a case under charges of rash and negligent driving and are examining CCTV footage to identify the vehicle and its registration number. Locals expressed renewed concerns over road safety in the area, particularly during nighttime.
This is not the first fatal accident reported in Kishanganj recently. On February 5, three friends riding a motorcycle on National Highway 27 near the Veer Kunwar Singh Bus Stand lost control of their vehicle and collided with a truck, resulting in all three deaths. Witnesses said the motorcycle first hit a divider before crashing into the truck, with the riders being thrown 20–25 metres from the impact.
The latest incident highlights ongoing road safety challenges in the region, emphasizing the need for stricter traffic enforcement and public awareness to prevent such tragedies in the future.
