Shots were fired on Wednesday night at a gym in outer Delhi’s Paschim Vihar area that operates under singer Guru Randhawa’s fitness franchise, triggering a police investigation and raising concerns over a fresh targeted attack linked to organised crime threats. The incident occurred at a branch of the 24HS Fitness gym network, which is reportedly owned under the singer’s brand association.
According to police, two unidentified men arrived on a motorcycle with their faces covered and opened fire outside the gym before fleeing the scene. Several rounds were discharged during the incident, but no injuries were reported. Law enforcement officials said the attack appeared to be premeditated and that CCTV footage from nearby locations is being examined to identify the suspects.
Soon after the incident, members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang allegedly claimed responsibility through social media posts. One such post, attributed to gang member Anil Pandit, stated that the gym was targeted as a warning due to Guru Randhawa’s alleged proximity to actor Salman Khan. The police have said they are verifying the authenticity of these claims as part of the ongoing investigation.

The post further warned of future attacks on perceived “enemies,” escalating concerns over the gang’s continued attempts to assert influence through intimidation. Investigators are also looking into whether the firing was intended as a symbolic message rather than a direct attempt to cause casualties.
The Bishnoi gang’s hostility toward Salman Khan stems from the long-running blackbuck poaching case dating back to 1998, in which the animal is considered sacred by the Bishnoi community. The case has remained a source of tension for years and has been repeatedly referenced in threats issued by the gang against individuals allegedly associated with the actor.
Police officials said a local resident operates the gym as part of Guru Randhawa’s franchise network and has been called in for questioning. Authorities are reviewing technical evidence, including CCTV footage and ballistic details, to determine the identities of those involved and establish the motive behind the attack. Further investigation is underway.
