The death toll from the catastrophic explosion at Sigachi Industries’ pharmaceutical plant in Telangana’s Sangareddy district has climbed to 46, following the death of another injured worker on Thursday, according to District Superintendent of Police Paritosh Pankaj.
The June 30 blast, which rocked the Pashamylaram industrial area, has left eight workers still missing, with ongoing rescue efforts hampered by debris. Eight others remain under treatment in various hospitals, some in critical condition.
The district administration has submitted a report to the state government for further action on the missing persons, as investigations into the cause of the tragedy continue.
