Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) national working president and Bihar Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav on Sunday inspected erosion-prone and flood-affected areas in his Raghopur constituency amid rising water levels in the Ganga. He reviewed the situation in riverside villages and sought information from officials about the extent of erosion and areas facing potential flooding.
During the inspection, Yadav assessed the impact of the continuously rising river level and interacted with local residents to understand their concerns. He gathered details from officials regarding water levels, vulnerable locations and the preparedness measures being taken to deal with the situation.
Yadav instructed the administrative machinery to remain on high alert and maintain constant monitoring of the Ganga water level and erosion along the riverbank. He also directed officials and engineers to closely observe vulnerable stretches and initiate anti-erosion measures wherever required to prevent further damage.

The RJD leader stressed the need for coordination between officials and villagers in areas at risk of flooding. He urged the administration to provide timely information to residents and ensure that essential resources remain available for emergency response and assistance to people who may be affected.
Raghopur has regularly faced challenges related to flooding and riverbank erosion because of its geographical location and proximity to the river. With water levels rising, residents in riverside areas have expressed concern about the possibility of further erosion and flooding.
Yadav's inspection comes as the administration prepares for the possibility of worsening conditions in vulnerable parts of the constituency. He directed officials to strengthen preparedness and remain ready to respond quickly if the situation develops into an emergency.
