Former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday, October 23, called for a fair investigation into a purported sting operation, alleging that it was designed to fabricate a case against him and blackmail him. In his first detailed response to the controversy, Siddaramaiah said he had filed a police complaint over what he described as a false case and urged authorities to identify those responsible for the operation.
Speaking to reporters in Mysuru, Siddaramaiah said it was important to establish who was behind the purported sting operation. He maintained that the allegations against him were baseless and said people in Karnataka should understand that the claims were false. He stressed that a proper investigation was necessary to uncover the circumstances surrounding the case.
The former Chief Minister said the video featured Congress leader Kripa Alva and Power TV owner Rakesh Shetty. However, he rejected the allegations levelled against him and described the case as a deliberate attempt to damage his position. His remarks came amid growing political attention surrounding the purported recording and the claims associated with it.
