BJP national general secretary Vinod Tawde met Union Home Minister Amit Shah at the Sahyadri Guest House in Mumbai on Friday night to discuss critical political strategies, party sources confirmed. Shah, welcomed by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis upon his arrival, engaged with Tawde on pivotal issues, including the upcoming vice-presidential election, the Bihar assembly polls, and internal party organizational matters.
The meeting also touched on the ongoing Maratha quota agitation, with Shah seeking insights from Fadnavis and Minister Ashish Shelar, a member of the state’s cabinet sub-committee on the issue.
Shah’s visit coincides with his annual Ganesh Chaturthi tradition, starting with a visit to the iconic Lalbaugcha Raja pandal on Saturday, followed by stops at pandals in Bandra West and Andheri East. He is also expected to visit Fadnavis’s residence, Varsha, to participate in the festivities.
Shah is likely to depart Mumbai by 2 PM. The discussions underscore the BJP’s focus on strengthening its organizational framework and addressing regional challenges ahead of key elections.
