The Chikkadpally police in Hyderabad submitted a detailed chargesheet on December 27, 2025, naming a total of 23 individuals as accused in the devastating stampede that occurred outside Sandhya Theatre during the premiere screening of Pushpa 2: The Rule on December 4, 2024, with renowned actor Allu Arjun designated as Accused No. 11.

The tragic incident claimed the life of 35-year-old Revathi, who succumbed to asphyxiation in the chaotic crowd surge, while her nine-year-old son, Sri Tej, sustained critical injuries, including brain damage due to prolonged oxygen deprivation, requiring extended hospitalisation and ongoing medical care.

Primary responsibility has been attributed to the theatre management, listed as Accused No. 1, for alleged gross negligence in crowd management, insufficient security deployment, and failure to implement adequate safety measures despite foreknowledge of the massive turnout expected for the high-profile film's release.

The chargesheet further implicates three theatre managers, eight private bouncers, members of Allu Arjun's security detail, and event organisers, charging them with abetment, criminal negligence, and violations under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, as the situation escalated uncontrollably upon the actor's unannounced arrival at the venue.

In response to widespread public outrage and protests demanding accountability and compensation, Allu Arjun, who was briefly detained and spent a night in custody before securing bail, along with the film's producers, announced and provided financial assistance of Rs 2 crore to the bereaved family; additionally, the actor personally visited the injured child at KIMS Hospital in Secunderabad on January 7, 2025, as the case advances toward trial proceedings.
