Rajasthan has received nearly 68,000 suggestions from citizens on the proposed Uniform Civil Code (UCC), reflecting significant public participation in the state's ongoing consultation process. According to officials, feedback has been submitted through multiple channels, with digital platforms emerging as a key medium for collecting public opinion. The government said fresh suggestions continue to be received every day as it expands its outreach efforts before drafting the proposed legislation.

The update was shared by Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Bhaskar Sawant during a review meeting chaired by Chief Secretary V. Srinivas at the Rajasthan Secretariat on Thursday. Sawant informed the meeting that residents from across the state have actively contributed their views using various online and offline methods. Officials noted that the steady inflow of suggestions indicates growing public awareness and engagement with the consultation exercise.

To encourage broader participation, the Rajasthan government has appealed to citizens to continue submitting their feedback on the proposed Uniform Civil Code. Departments have been instructed to make extensive use of digital communication tools, including WhatsApp, QR codes and SMS services, to simplify the process of sending suggestions. The initiative aims to make the consultation more accessible and convenient for people across different regions of the state.

During the meeting, Chief Secretary V. Srinivas directed district administrations and departmental officials to intensify public awareness campaigns to ensure that people from all sections of society are informed about the consultation process. He stressed the importance of reaching both urban and rural populations so that citizens across Rajasthan have an equal opportunity to express their views. Officials were asked to maximise outreach efforts to make the consultation as inclusive as possible.

Senior officials from the concerned departments attended the review meeting, while Divisional Commissioners and District Collectors from across Rajasthan joined through video conferencing. The state government has indicated that the consultation process will continue, with public feedback expected to play a key role in shaping the proposed Uniform Civil Code before any legislation is finalised.
