Rajasthan's health department clamped down on six pharmaceutical stores implicated in irregularities under the Rajasthan Government Health Scheme (RGHS), registering FIRs against four and suspending two from the program. This week-long crackdown reflects a zero-tolerance stance, with Principal Secretary Gayatri Rathore announcing actions against 19 beneficiaries and suspensions of 14 personnel. Further probes target additional violations to safeguard public funds.
In Bhilwara, two stores fraudulently claimed RGHS reimbursements for unprocured medicines, siphoning approximately Rs 27 lakh from the exchequer. CEO Harjeev Lal Atal confirmed FIRs filed against them, alongside immediate cancellation of their drug licences to prevent recurrence. Recovery proceedings and departmental penalties ensure accountability.
Nagaur's Confed government pharma outlets faced similar scrutiny for wrongful claims, prompting swift investigations. Meanwhile, two Confed stores in Bikaner and Hanumangarh earned suspensions pending deeper audits. These measures underscore systemic checks on empanelled providers.

Rathore emphasized the government's commitment to RGHS integrity, a flagship scheme offering cashless treatment to beneficiaries. Ongoing suspensions of implicated staff and beneficiary actions deter misuse. The drive recovers losses and reinforces trust in healthcare delivery. This operation signals Rajasthan's rigorous oversight of welfare schemes amid rising fraud concerns. Officials vow continued vigilance, with more cases under scanner, prioritizing citizen welfare over malpractices.
