Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday extended birthday wishes to Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on his 53rd birthday, saying that together they would work towards fulfilling the “resolve for social justice.” The message comes amid continued political coordination signals between opposition parties at the national level, with leaders emphasising shared themes of inclusivity and democratic values.
In a post on social media platform X, Rahul Gandhi wrote in Hindi that he wished Akhilesh Yadav good health and a long life, adding that the collective effort would aim to advance social justice through the participation of the PDA—referring to Pichra, Dalit, and Alpasankhyak communities. His message highlighted the broader political narrative of representation and inclusion that both leaders have often emphasised in their public statements.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge also conveyed his greetings to Yadav, describing him as the former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and national President of the Samajwadi Party. In his message, Kharge wished Yadav a bright future, good health, and longevity, while reiterating a commitment to jointly advancing the principles of social justice, inclusive development, and democratic strengthening.

Akhilesh Yadav, who served as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh from 2012 to 2017, turned 53 on Wednesday. He continues to lead the Samajwadi Party and remains a key opposition figure in Indian politics, particularly in Uttar Pradesh, one of the country’s most politically significant states.
The exchange of greetings between senior Congress and Samajwadi Party leaders is being seen as part of ongoing efforts among opposition parties to present a united front on issues related to social equity and constitutional values. While largely ceremonial in tone, such messages often reflect broader political alignment and continued engagement between the two parties in the national political landscape.
