The President’s office announced that President Droupadi Murmu will undertake a three-day visit to Karnataka and Tamil Nadu starting September 1, 2025. On the first day, she will attend the diamond jubilee celebrations of the All India Institute of Speech and Hearing in Mysuru, Karnataka, marking 60 years of pioneering work in speech and hearing sciences. This event underscores the institute’s contributions to education and healthcare, aligning with national efforts to advance inclusive development.

On September 2, President Murmu will travel to Chennai, Tamil Nadu, to grace the 120th foundation day celebrations of City Union Bank, one of India’s oldest private-sector banks. The milestone highlights the bank’s enduring legacy in financial services and its role in economic growth. The visit reflects the President’s engagement with institutions driving India’s progress across diverse sectors.

Concluding her tour on September 3, President Murmu will attend the 10th convocation ceremony of the Central University of Tamil Nadu in Thiruvarur. Addressing the graduating class, she will celebrate a decade of academic excellence at the university, reinforcing the importance of higher education in shaping India’s future. The three-day visit underscores her commitment to recognizing achievements in education, healthcare, and economic development in southern India.
