During her ongoing visit to Uttar Pradesh, President of India Droupadi Murmu met revered saint Premanand Maharaj at his Shri Hit Radha Keli Kunj Ashram in Vrindavan on Friday. The meeting, widely shared on social media, was described by Bhajan Marg as a respectful audience with the saint, highlighting President Murmu’s engagement with spiritual and cultural leaders in the state.
On the same day, President Murmu inaugurated an oncology block at the Ramakrishna Mission Seva Ashrama, emphasizing the government’s commitment to healthcare and welfare initiatives in the region.
Earlier, she visited the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya, where she performed the ‘aarti’ and conducted the Shri Ram Yantra Sthapana and Pujan. Speaking on the occasion, she described it as her “supreme privilege” to touch the sacred dust of Ayodhya, the birthplace of Shri Ram. The visit coincided with Chaitra Shukla Pratipada, marking the beginning of Samvatsar 2083 and the first day of Navratri.

President Murmu reflected on key milestones in the temple’s history, including the Bhoomi Pujan of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, the Pran Pratishtha of the Ram Lalla idol, the opening of the Ram Darbar for devotees, and the hoisting of the religious flag atop the temple spire. She described these events as “golden” in India’s cultural and religious heritage.
She further underscored the nation’s progress toward building an inclusive society and achieving the goals of a developed nation. Expressing confidence, the President said that with the blessings of Shri Ram, these objectives could be achieved by 2047, India’s centenary of independence, or perhaps even sooner.
The President’s visits to Vrindavan and Ayodhya reflect a blend of cultural reverence, spiritual engagement, and emphasis on social welfare, highlighting her focus on both tradition and development during the Uttar Pradesh tour.
