Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday urged lawmakers to make the Monsoon Session of Parliament productive, calling for meaningful discussions based on facts rather than disruptions. Addressing the media before the start of the session, Modi said constructive debate should remain at the centre of parliamentary proceedings. Drawing a comparison between the rainy season and the parliamentary session, Modi expressed hope that both would contribute positively to the country. He said a productive monsoon and a productive Parliament session could help advance national development and public welfare.

"Be it the monsoon or the monsoon session, if both are proactive, they prove to be highly productive," Modi said. He added that when both function effectively, they contribute to the welfare of the nation and the well-being of citizens. The Prime Minister appealed to members of Parliament to focus on discussions supported by facts and avoid unnecessary disruptions. His remarks came amid expectations of heated debates during the session over several political and national issues.

Modi also highlighted India's progress in the space sector during his interaction with the media. He praised private space startup Skyroot Aerospace, pointing to the growing role of private companies in India's space ambitions and technological development. The Prime Minister also made a reference to a "56-year-old youth", which was seen as a veiled remark directed at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. The comment came as political tensions remained high ahead of the parliamentary session.
