Prime Minister Narendra Modi has unveiled a bold initiative to revolutionize Indian agriculture, promising to uplift farmers and turbocharge crop production. Speaking on Wednesday, Modi announced the ‘Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana,’ a ₹24,000 crore scheme set to launch in October during the rabi season, targeting 100 underperforming districts to boost yields and farmers’ incomes, impacting 1.7 crore farmers.
The Union Cabinet greenlit the ambitious six-year plan, underscoring the government’s commitment to transforming rural livelihoods. “We are dedicated to enhancing the lives of our farmers,” Modi declared, highlighting the scheme’s potential to drive agricultural prosperity.
In a parallel move, the Cabinet approved a massive ₹20,000 crore investment boost for state-owned NTPC and ₹7,000 crore for NLCIL’s renewable energy projects, amplifying India’s green energy push. These decisions mark a significant step toward sustainable development and economic empowerment, positioning farmers and clean energy at the heart of India’s growth story.
