Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Bengaluru on Sunday, August 10, for a whirlwind four-hour trip to inaugurate transformative infrastructure projects, including the Bangalore Metro’s Yellow Line and the Bengaluru-Belagavi Vande Bharat Express.
According to the itinerary released by the Chief Minister’s Office, Modi will arrive at HAL Airport at 10:30 AM. His first stop will be KSR Bengaluru railway station, where he will flag off the high-speed Vande Bharat Express connecting Bengaluru to Belagavi. Additionally, he will virtually launch two other Vande Bharat trains: Amritsar to Sri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and Ajni (Nagpur) to Pune, further expanding India’s semi-high-speed rail network.
Modi will then proceed to RV Road (Ragigudda) metro station to inaugurate the 19.15-km Yellow Line (Reach 5) from RV Road to Bommasandra, constructed at a cost of Rs 5,056.99 crore. The line, featuring 16 stations, is expected to alleviate chronic traffic congestion along key corridors such as Hosur Road, Silk Board Junction, and Electronics City Junction. The Prime Minister will also take a ceremonial metro ride to Electronic City station between 11:45 AM and 12:50 PM.
