Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday interacted with 183 Officer Trainees of the IAS 2024 batch, urging them to play a leading role in shaping India’s development journey under the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047. The interaction took place at Seva Teerth, where the Prime Minister emphasised citizen-centric governance, accountability, and the importance of measurable outcomes in public service delivery.
During the session, the Prime Minister encouraged the young civil servants to approach governance with a strong sense of purpose and dedication to nation-building. He stressed that their contribution should be evaluated not by the positions they hold, but by the tangible impact they create in improving the lives of citizens. He also highlighted the importance of integrity, sensitivity, and responsibility in handling real-world administrative challenges.
PM Modi interacted directly with the officer trainees, who shared insights from their field training and ministry attachments. He noted that their early exposure to governance structures places them at a crucial stage in their careers, where their decisions will influence both administrative efficiency and the welfare of millions of citizens. He urged them to always remember the human stories behind every administrative file.

Calling for a shift towards a whole-of-government approach, the Prime Minister emphasised that complex national challenges require coordination across departments rather than isolated efforts. He underlined that effective governance depends on collaboration, timely decision-making, and a shared commitment to national priorities such as Aatmanirbhar Bharat, manufacturing growth, energy security, and youth employment.
The Prime Minister also highlighted the increasing role of technology in governance, noting that digital tools, artificial intelligence, and data-driven systems are transforming service delivery across the country. He advised officers to treat data not as abstract numbers, but as representations of citizens’ aspirations and real-life challenges that must be addressed through effective policy implementation.
Senior officials, including representatives from the Department of Personnel and Training and other top bureaucrats, were present during the interaction. The Prime Minister also noted the significant participation of women in the current batch, observing that more than 40 per cent of the officer trainees are women, reflecting the growing inclusivity in India’s administrative services as the country moves toward its long-term development goals.
