On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared that India has embraced a transparent, sensitive, and citizen-centric governance model over the past 11 years, emphasizing a holistic approach to revitalizing national infrastructure. Speaking at Kartavya Path in New Delhi, shortly after inaugurating Kartavya Bhavan—the first of 10 advanced Common Central Secretariat buildings designed to house all ministry offices—Modi highlighted the project as a symbol of India’s global ambitions.

Modi contrasted the modern Kartavya Bhavan with the outdated British-era buildings that previously served as administrative hubs, noting their poor working conditions, including inadequate space, lighting, and ventilation. “Kartavya Bhavan embodies our resolve to fulfill the nation’s dreams and guide the policies for a developed India,” he stated, underscoring its role in shaping the country’s future.

The Prime Minister called for collective action to boost the success of initiatives like ‘Make in India’ and Aatmanirbhar Bharat, urging citizens to enhance productivity for both personal and national growth. Reflecting on India’s progress, he acknowledged that the country lagged behind other nations that gained independence around the same time but surged ahead. “We must ensure current problems are not passed on to future generations,” Modi emphasized, advocating for proactive governance.
