In a stirring Diwali celebration aboard the indigenously built INS Vikrant, Prime Minister Narendra Modi joined Indian Navy personnel to honor their pivotal role in safeguarding global trade routes and national security. Addressing the brave sailors, Modi lauded their valor during Operation Sindoor, a historic triumph that showcased the seamless coordination among India’s armed forces, compelling Pakistan’s surrender. “The extraordinary synergy during Operation Sindoor forced the enemy to its knees,” Modi declared, his words resonating with pride.
Reflecting on the Navy’s global impact, Modi emphasized, “Fifty percent of the world’s container ships traverse the Indian Ocean, and our Navy stands as its steadfast guardian, ensuring stability in these vital waters.” The Prime Minister’s overnight stay on INS Vikrant left an indelible mark. “The night I spent on INS Vikrant is beyond words. Your energy, your patriotic songs narrating Operation Sindoor’s glory—it’s an experience only a jawan on the battlefield can truly fathom,” he said, visibly moved by the sailors’ spirit.
Modi described the moment as divine, standing amidst “infinite horizons and the infinite power of INS Vikrant.” He likened the sun’s rays dancing on the ocean to “Diwali lamps lit by our brave soldiers.” The Prime Minister expressed personal gratitude, noting, “I am accustomed to celebrating Diwali with family, and you, my Navy family, make this Diwali truly special. The deep night of the ocean and this morning’s sunrise have illuminated my festival in countless ways.”
