Union Minister Piyush Goyal has credited Home Minister Amit Shah’s structured planning and strategic approach for advancing efforts toward a Naxal-free India. Speaking at a recent event, Goyal praised the coordinated measures taken by the Home Ministry to curb left-wing extremism and strengthen internal security across affected regions.
According to Goyal, Shah’s focus on detailed planning, intelligence-driven operations, and community engagement has played a key role in reducing Naxal influence in several states. He highlighted that these efforts have combined law enforcement with development initiatives, aiming to address both security threats and underlying socio-economic issues that fuel insurgency.
Goyal emphasized that the government’s approach includes enhancing local infrastructure, providing better connectivity, and implementing welfare programs in affected areas, all while ensuring that security forces are equipped and trained to handle militant threats. He described this dual strategy as essential for sustainable peace and long-term stability in Naxal-affected regions.

Experts observing India’s counter-insurgency strategies have noted that combining security measures with socio-economic development is a globally recognized approach to reducing militant activity. Goyal’s remarks underline the government’s intent to continue this dual-pronged strategy to achieve a Naxal-free nation.
The initiative forms part of broader national security priorities, with ongoing monitoring, policy refinement, and community-focused programs aimed at ensuring lasting peace in regions historically impacted by left-wing extremism.
