Arunachal Pradesh is rapidly emerging as a powerhouse of innovation and industry, with Chief Minister Pema Khandu announcing a dynamic growth strategy. In a recent post on X, Khandu outlined transformative initiatives positioning the state as a hub for startups and industrial development. The newly launched Industrial Development & Investment Policy 2025 is set to attract significant investments, with projects worth ₹809 crore already in the pipeline, focusing on food processing, steel, and bamboo-based industries.
The state boasts a robust industrial framework, including 15 industrial estates, one growth centre, and an integrated development centre spanning over 736 acres. These support 21,982 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), thriving in sectors like food, textiles, and hospitality. Khandu emphasized the role of the Arunachal Pradesh Innovation & Investment Park (APIIP), which nurtures 50 startups annually. Since 2021, APIIP has incubated 106 startups, with 512 applications in 2025 alone, reflecting the vibrant entrepreneurial spirit of Arunachal’s youth.
Empowering youth and women is a cornerstone of this vision. Through the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Swavalamban Yojana (DDUSY), ₹488 crore has been invested in 2,648 entrepreneurs, fostering innovation across diverse sectors. Khandu also highlighted the SEE Trinity framework (Skill, Employment, and Entrepreneurship), projecting over 25,000 jobs and self-employment opportunities in the next five years. Notably, APIIP’s adoption of Artificial Intelligence for shortlisting startup applications marks Arunachal as a pioneer in India’s startup ecosystem.

We’re scripting a bold new chapter of prosperity,” Khandu declared, aligning the state’s ambitions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Viksit Bharat @2047 vision.
