Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu asserted on Monday that India is uniquely equipped to provide essential services to the global community, citing its demographic strengths amid worldwide ageing population challenges. Speaking at the National Conference on e-Governance in Visakhapatnam, Naidu, a veteran leader known for promoting technology-driven development, emphasised that the future landscape would demand India's youthful workforce and vast market potential.
Naidu highlighted how countries like those in Europe and Japan face shortages of nurses, doctors, and tech professionals despite advanced technology due to ageing populations. In contrast, he noted India's population of 143 crore—the world's largest—offers a significant advantage over China's 130 crore. Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi for invoking the 'Swadeshi movement', Naidu advocated focusing on domestic production to build global brands, enabling India to meet international demands and expand exports.
The chief minister detailed Andhra Pradesh's initiatives in cutting-edge technology, including a mechanism to produce quantum computers with partners like IBM and TCS. He predicted that within two years, India would manufacture and export these devices, addressing domestic needs. Naidu described Amaravati as India's 'Quantum Valley', announcing that by January, the country would join the elite group of six to seven nations with quantum computing capabilities. He termed the combination of quantum computing and artificial intelligence (AI) as transformative.

Looking ahead, Naidu called the next decade crucial, with technologies such as AI, machine learning, blockchain, and quantum computing reshaping governance. With 2047—India's centenary of independence—only 22 years away, he expressed confidence in India emerging as the world's leading nation. He lauded Modi as the ideal leader, attuned to technology's potential, underscoring the synergy between state and central efforts in driving national progress.
