Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is set to transform Nuapada district with the launch of development projects worth over Rs 1,100 crore on Monday, officials confirmed. The high-profile event, scheduled in the poll-bound district, comes at a critical time as Nuapada gears up for bypolls triggered by the passing of sitting MLA Rajendra Dholakia in September.
The Chief Minister’s Office took to X to share the excitement: “Honorable Chief Minister Shri @MohanMOdisha will visit Nuapada to announce 957 transformative projects valued at over Rs 1,100 crore, laying foundation stones and inaugurating key initiatives.” These projects are poised to revolutionize sectors like agriculture, education, healthcare, and rural development, while boosting connectivity, creating local jobs, and elevating living standards across the district.
Majhi himself emphasized the impact, stating on X, “These initiatives will drive significant progress, empowering communities with better infrastructure, opportunities, and quality of life.” The projects include modern irrigation systems, upgraded healthcare facilities, new educational institutions, and enhanced road networks to connect remote areas.

As the Election Commission prepares to announce the bye-election schedule alongside Bihar’s legislative polls at a 4 pm press conference in New Delhi, political activity in Nuapada is heating up. Opposition Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leaders from Bhubaneswar have been actively engaging with locals, while Odisha Congress president Bhakta Charan Das is set to address a ‘Nyay Samavesh’ near Chaltan Pada on Monday. Despite the political buzz, no party has yet revealed their candidates for the upcoming bypolls, keeping voters in suspense.
The launch of these projects is expected to reshape Nuapada’s future, positioning it as a hub of development and opportunity in Odisha. With the bypolls looming, Majhi’s visit is seen as a strategic move to strengthen the ruling party’s presence in the region, promising a brighter future for its residents.
