Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has expressed gratitude to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh for approving an Indian Air Force (IAF) air show during the 2025 Mysuru Dasara celebrations, set to take place from September 22 to October 2. In a letter shared by the CM’s office on Thursday, Siddaramaiah highlighted that the air show would elevate the grandeur of the ‘Naada Habba’ (state festival) and inspire pride among the thousands of visitors expected in Mysuru.
Siddaramaiah extended a warm invitation to Singh to attend the event, stating, “Your presence will be a source of immense encouragement to Karnataka’s citizens and strengthen our admiration for the Armed Forces.” The air show, featuring IAF’s aerobatic displays, is expected to be a highlight of the 10-day festival, which includes the traditional elephant march (Gajapayana), extended palace illumination, cultural performances, and the iconic Vijayadashami procession, known as Jamboo Savari.
The announcement has sparked excitement among locals, with Mysuru resident Ananya Rao saying, “The air show will make Dasara unforgettable, showcasing both our culture and the IAF’s valor.” The event, a key tourist attraction, is projected to draw over a million visitors, boosting local businesses. Authorities are coordinating with the IAF to ensure a safe and spectacular display, further cementing Mysuru Dasara’s status as a global cultural spectacle.
