A video allegedly showing a Mumbai police driver threatening student protesters with false narcotics cases has triggered outrage on social media, prompting authorities to suspend the officer and order an investigation. “Taking a serious note of the video, the state government has ordered a probe against Pawan Sangle, posted as a driver. He has also been suspended from his position until the probe against him is completed,” the official said. The action against the police driver comes at a time when student protests over alleged irregularities in competitive examinations have intensified across several cities. The CJP has been leading demonstrations in Delhi, demanding accountability over alleged paper leaks and examination-related concerns.
