Panic gripped Navi Mumbai on July 16, 2025, after two alarming bomb threat calls targeted a Mumbai-Ahmedabad flight and the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. The Navi Mumbai police have swung into action, registering an FIR and launching a high-stakes investigation to track down the culprits behind the menacing hoax that aimed to spark fear and disrupt public peace.
The threatening calls, received between 2:00 PM and 2:30 PM at the office of the Navi Mumbai Joint Commissioner of Police, claimed a bomb was planted on a Mumbai-Ahmedabad flight and that the city’s international airport would be blown up by 6:30 PM. Swift and thorough checks by authorities found no suspicious items, confirming the threats as a hoax. “The calls were made to disturb public peace and create fear,” a CBD police station official stated, adding that an FIR has been filed under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Police have identified the mobile numbers used for the calls and are actively pursuing leads to nab the perpetrators. No arrests have been made yet, but the investigation is moving at full speed to ensure justice and prevent further panic. As Mumbai breathes a sigh of relief, the hunt for the pranksters continues.
