The Union Culture Ministry has announced an ambitious series of commemorative events in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands to celebrate Parakram Diwas on January 23, 2026, marking the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose with a grand multi-zone exhibition and a spectacular drone show highlighting his extraordinary contributions to India's freedom struggle.
The centerpiece will be a comprehensive mega exhibition spread across two historic islets—Sri Vijaya Puram and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Dweep—designed to vividly chronicle Bose's inspiring life journey, from his early days in Cuttack and education at Cambridge to his pivotal role in forming and leading the Indian National Army during World War II.
Visitors will have the opportunity to explore a rich collection of archival treasures, including rare historical documents, authentic photographs capturing key moments of the INA's campaigns, significant records tied to Bose's strategic alliances, and a curated selection of books that delve deeply into his ideology, vision, and enduring impact on the nation's independence movement.

Adding a modern and captivating element to the tribute, a large-scale drone show will illuminate the night skies over the islands, narrating Bose's legacy through synchronized aerial visuals that promise to draw thousands of attendees and create a memorable spectacle honoring his fearless leadership and association with the Andaman Islands during the freedom struggle.
The three-day event, starting January 23, builds on the government's 2021 decision to annually observe Netaji's birth anniversary as Parakram Diwas in recognition of his 125th birth year, aiming to inspire future generations with stories of courage, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication to India's sovereignty.
