Mumbai Police has issued a comprehensive traffic advisory ahead of Lionel Messi's highly anticipated G.O.A.T. India Tour 2025 event scheduled for December 14, 2025, at a venue in South Mumbai. The football legend's visit is expected to draw massive crowds, prompting restrictions and recommendations to ensure smooth traffic flow and public safety.
Key measures include a complete ban on parking at Wankhede Stadium and Brabourne Stadium premises, as well as surrounding areas. Vehicles parked in violation will be towed, authorities warned. Commuters are strongly advised to opt for public transport, including local trains, metro services, and BEST buses, to avoid congestion in the Churchgate-Marine Drive vicinity.
Several roads may face temporary diversions or closures during peak hours, particularly around the event site. Police urged residents and visitors to plan journeys in advance, allow extra travel time, and cooperate with on-duty personnel managing crowds and vehicular movement.

The advisory emphasises using apps like M-indicator or Google Maps for real-time updates and alternative routes. Enhanced security deployments, including barricades and checkpoints, will be in place to facilitate fan movement while minimising disruptions.
Messi's Mumbai leg follows engagements in Kolkata and Hyderabad, featuring interactions, a masterclass, and celebrity appearances. The tour leg has generated immense excitement, with tickets selling out rapidly. Authorities appealed for public cooperation to make the global star's visit memorable and hassle-free, prioritising safety amid the football frenzy sweeping the city.
