A serious multi-vehicle accident involving a lorry, a tractor, and a Bolero SUV was reported on Monday near Lakshmipura Gate on the Doddaballapura–Devanahalli stretch of National Highway 648 in Bengaluru Rural district. According to preliminary police information, the incident began when a lorry travelling from Doddaballapura towards Devanahalli allegedly lost control while moving along the busy highway and collided with a tractor that was proceeding ahead in the same direction. The impact of the initial collision appears to have been significant enough to destabilise the heavy vehicle, setting off a chain reaction that quickly escalated into a dangerous three-vehicle crash involving multiple road users in close proximity on a high-speed corridor.

Following the first impact, the lorry is reported to have veered uncontrollably across the road divider and entered the opposite carriageway, where it collided head-on with a Bolero SUV coming from the other direction.
