A major rail disruption that hit Jharkhand’s Seraikela-Kharswan district in the morning, when two goods trains derailed under South Eastern Railway’s Adra division, causing widespread cancellations and diversions of express trains. The incident occurred in the early hours between Chandil and Nimdih stations as the trains passed each other in opposite directions on a double-line section.
According to initial reports, a few wagons of one train derailed and collided with the middle portion of the other, leading to further derailments. No injuries were reported, but the accident halted train movement on both up and down tracks in the Chandil-Gunda Bihar section. Efforts are underway to restore services, said a South Eastern Railway official.

Three MEMU passenger trains, including Tata-Asansol and Tata-Hatia, were also cancelled.
