Renowned Punjabi singer Rajvir Jawanda passed away on Wednesday at Fortis Hospital here, succumbing to severe head and spinal injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident nearly two weeks ago. The 35-year-old artist, a rising star in the Punjabi music scene, had been on ventilator support since September 27, when he lost control of his bike in Himachal Pradesh's Solan district while en route to Shimla. His death has left fans, family, and the industry in mourning, with tributes pouring in from across Punjab and beyond.

Jawanda, hailing from Pona village in Ludhiana's Jagraon tehsil, was rushed to Fortis Hospital in an "extremely critical" condition following the crash in the Baddi area. Police reports indicated he veered off the road, suffering trauma that necessitated immediate life support. Married with two young children, Jawanda's battle for survival drew widespread prayers and support from the Punjabi diaspora. Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring shared the heartbreaking news on X, writing, "Saddened by the passing away of Rajvir Jawanda ji.

We all prayed for his speedy recovery, but sadly God had other plans. My heart goes out to his family, friends, and fans who are shattered with this tragic loss. May Waheguru grant eternal peace to the departed soul and give strength to his loved ones to bear this tragic loss. RIP."

Known for his soulful voice and relatable lyrics, Jawanda had carved a niche with hits like Tu Dis Penda, Khush Reha Kar, Sardari, Surname, Afreen, Landlord, Down to Earth, and Kangani. These tracks, blending folk influences with contemporary beats, amassed millions of streams on platforms like Spotify and YouTube, resonating with themes of love, rural life, and resilience. His foray into cinema further amplified his reach; he featured in the Gippy Grewal-led Subedar Joginder Singh (2018), as well as Jind Jaan (2019) and Mindo Taseeldarni (2019), showcasing his versatility beyond music.
