The inauguration of operations at Noida International Airport in Jewar has brought a symbolic and emotional narrative of development, with farmers who gave up their ancestral land for the project becoming the first VIP passengers on its inaugural flight. According to reports, the first flight from the airport carried farmers from Jewar and surrounding villages to Lucknow, where they were scheduled to meet Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The same group of farmers is expected to return on an evening flight, symbolising their central role in the project’s completion and inauguration celebrations. Officials described their participation as recognition of the sacrifices made for the airport’s construction.

The Noida International Airport project, located in Jewar, has been one of the largest infrastructure developments in Uttar Pradesh, requiring large-scale land acquisition from local farming communities.
