In a high-stakes battle deep in Jammu’s dense forests, security forces are hunting foreign terrorists armed with cutting-edge drones, with over 100 anti-terror operations launched daily to crush the threat.Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Zone, Bhim Sen Tuti, revealed that neutralizing foreign terrorists hiding in the region’s rugged terrain remains a top challenge. “For the past two years, foreign terrorists have been a major issue, but we are strengthening our counter-terrorism and border protection grid,” Tuti said during a Police Commemoration Day event on Tuesday. He expressed confidence that these threats would soon be eliminated.
Speaking at a wreath-laying ceremony at the Police Martyrs Memorial near Jammu railway station and later at Gulshan Ground, Tuti emphasized the relentless efforts to maintain internal security. “Around 120 counter-terrorist operations are launched daily in the Jammu zone, whether based on precise intelligence or speculative leads,” he said. These operations are part of a broader mission to dismantle terrorist networks using advanced tactics.
Terrorists are increasingly deploying drones to breach security grids, but Tuti assured that security agencies are staying ahead. “They are changing tactics, but we are two steps ahead with counter-measures and modern technology,” he said, highlighting the shift toward data-driven and evidence-based policing to ensure efficiency.

The Police Commemoration Day honored the sacrifices of 10 CRPF personnel martyred on October 21, 1959, in an ambush by Chinese troops at Hot Springs, Ladakh. Tuti paid tribute to all fallen heroes, including those killed in traffic duties or while combating criminals. “Fighting terrorism is a prime duty, but we salute all comrades who sacrificed their lives across the spectrum of policing,” he said.
Tuti also acknowledged the families of martyrs, assuring the public of the Jammu and Kashmir Police’s unwavering commitment. “We will not leave any stone unturned to ensure your safety and security,” he vowed, adding that the force has been battling terrorism for over three decades and will continue until it is eradicated.
As part of the commemorative events, 125 police personnel across Jammu Zone donated blood at a camp organized on Monday. Solemn tributes were held across all ten districts, including the Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy in Udhampur, with senior officers, retired personnel, martyrs’ families, and civil society members in attendance.
With terrorists adapting and security forces countering with advanced strategies, the fight in Jammu’s forests is intensifying, promising a safer future for the region.
