Flight operations in the national capital have been affected as adverse weather conditions, including rain and thunderstorms, disrupted normal schedules. IndiGo issued a travel advisory warning passengers about possible delays and extended waiting times both on the ground and inside aircraft. The airline urged travellers to check their flight status before heading to the airport to avoid inconvenience.
The disruption comes as the India Meteorological Department forecasts continued unstable weather conditions over Delhi and the surrounding National Capital Region (NCR). According to the IMD, the region is expected to witness partly cloudy to generally cloudy skies along with spells of light rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and strong surface winds over the next few days.
On May 4, wind speeds are expected to reach 40–50 kmph, with gusts touching up to 60–70 kmph in some areas. Such strong winds and sudden weather changes can significantly impact flight take-offs and landings, leading to delays or rescheduling. The situation is being closely monitored by airlines and airport authorities to ensure passenger safety.

The IMD has also indicated that similar weather conditions will prevail across various districts of Delhi, including North, South, East, West, Central, and Shahdara, along with nearby NCR cities such as Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad, and Ghaziabad. The forecast suggests that the weather will remain unstable until May 6, with chances of thunderstorms particularly in the afternoon hours.
