In a bold move to revolutionize India’s industrial landscape, Union Minister of Power Manohar Lal Khattar today launched the Assistance in Deploying Energy Efficient Technologies in Industries & Establishments (ADEETIE) scheme in Panipat, Haryana. With a staggering budget of ₹1,000 crore, this initiative aims to empower Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to embrace cutting-edge energy-efficient technologies.
The ADEETIE scheme offers interest subventions of 5% for micro and small enterprises, and 3% for medium enterprises, making sustainable upgrades more accessible. The scheme is set to roll out in phases, beginning with 60 industrial clusters across 14 energy-intensive sectors, including textiles, ceramics, food processing, and pharmaceuticals.
Khattar emphasized that ADEETIE is not just about reducing energy costs but also about aligning MSMEs with India's climate commitments, including the goal to achieve Net Zero emissions by 2070. The scheme is expected to mobilize investments exceeding ₹9,000 crore, benefiting over 8,000 MSMEs nationwide.
