Alert troops of the Indian Army’s White Knight Corps successfully disrupted a terrorist infiltration attempt in the Mendhar Sector of Poonch district, Jammu and Kashmir. The incident occurred around 5:30 AM near Dabbi village in Balakot, close to the Line of Control (LoC), as suspicious movements were detected.
Swiftly responding, the troops opened fire, preventing the infiltrators from crossing into Indian territory from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The terrorists, caught off-guard by the heavy firing, attempted to flee, but the army quickly deployed reinforcements, cordoning off the area for a thorough search. Sporadic firing resumed as search parties closed in on the site of the initial encounter, with operations ongoing as of the latest reports.
The foiled infiltration coincided with Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to Jammu, where he was assessing the aftermath of devastating flash floods that struck the region last month. The White Knight Corps, in a statement on X, confirmed that troops have been repositioned to dominate the area and remain on high alert to ensure security.
