The Karman Project, a global foundation dedicated to fostering peace and collaboration in space, has chosen Bangalore, India, for its prestigious Karman Week 2025. Partnering with SatSure, a leading Earth Intelligence company, the event will bring together 15 influential space leaders—including astronauts, agency heads, and industry pioneers—for a week of strategic discussions, cultural immersion, and innovation showcases in October.
The Karman Project and SatSure have a strong history, with SatSure’s CEO, Prateep Basu, a 2020 Karman Fellow who launched the SatSure Sparta platform to enhance financial inclusion for Indian farmers using Earth observation data. This partnership underscores their shared vision for impactful, cross-sector space initiatives. Karman Week 2025 will spotlight India's thriving space ecosystem, driven by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and a vibrant startup scene.
“India leads in using space tech for real-world solutions like agriculture and climate resilience,” said Hannah Ashford, Managing Director of The Karman Project. “Hosting Karman Week in Bangalore connects our global Fellows with India’s mission-driven innovation hub.”

The event includes engagements with India’s space sector, cultural activities, and a nature-based leadership retreat to foster trust and collaboration across borders.
“Hosting Karman Week 2025 is a proud moment for India’s space community,” said Prateep Basu. “We’ll highlight how India’s AI and space data innovations tackle global challenges in agriculture and sustainability.”
India’s 2025 space milestones include its 100th spaceport launch, a global space exploration conference, a rare satellite docking maneuver, and ISRO astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla’s historic visit to the International Space Station. Karman Week 2025 reinforces India’s role in advancing peaceful space exploration.
Now in its sixth year, Karman Week has previously convened in the UAE, France, Maldives, and Bulgaria. This invitation-only event fosters cooperation among top space actors. More details will be shared later.
