The Association of Consulting Civil Engineers (India) [ACCE(I)], Hyderabad Centre, launched its two-day national conference on “Next-Gen Highrise Buildings – Advancements in Composite and Steel Structures” on July 14 at the ESCI Campus, Gachibowli. Telangana’s Minister for IT, Electronics, and Industries, D. Sridhar Babu, inaugurated the event, praising civil engineers as the “backbone of New India” and emphasizing the need for innovative, sustainable infrastructure to support urban growth.
The conference, attended by nearly 800 professionals, including civil engineers, architects, urban planners, developers, researchers, and students, featured 14+ eminent speakers. It served as a hub for knowledge exchange, with sessions on advanced composite and steel systems, climate-resilient designs, disaster-resistant structures, and digital innovations shaping India’s urban future. Keynote speeches, technical sessions, and panel discussions addressed challenges in highrise design, stability, and sustainability amid rapid urbanization.
Rajkumar Kacharla, Vice President, ACCE(I), stated, “We’re crafting a sustainable legacy for generations. Highrise buildings are critical for growing populations, and this conference fosters collaboration to drive resilient urban growth.” Bheem Rao Jaligama, Vice-Chairman, ACCE(I) Hyderabad Centre, added, “This event urges engineers to innovate responsibly, shaping future-ready cities.” Er. C. Ramesh, Hon. Secretary, highlighted the platform’s role in driving sustainable construction research.

Supported by Jai Raj Steel ATOOT, Kirby Building Systems, and Unitech Structural Systems, the conference underscores the industry’s commitment to next-gen highrise innovation. ACCE(I), established in 1985, continues to advance civil engineering with its 10,000 members across 50 centres, with Hyderabad’s chapter leading through events like NATCON-2023.
