A devastating head-on collision between a government-run bus and a truck on National Highway 117 near Kakdwip in West Bengal’s South 24 Parganas district left 11 people critically injured on Wednesday morning. The Kolkata-bound bus, packed with passengers, crashed into the commercial vehicle around 6:30 AM, police reported.
All 11 victims, including the truck driver, were rushed to Kakdwip Superspeciality Hospital. The driver, in critical condition, was later transferred to Diamond Harbour Medical College and Hospital.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident, with preliminary reports suggesting possible low visibility or driver error.
