Himachal Pradesh Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh announced an allocation of ₹2 crore for each assembly constituency severely impacted by monsoon rains, alongside ₹50 lakh for all 68 constituencies to restore roads and infrastructure. The announcement, shared via a video on Singh’s Facebook page on Saturday, addresses the widespread devastation caused by the monsoon season, which began on June 20.
Mandi district has been the hardest hit, with rain-induced disasters claiming lives and damaging infrastructure. The state has recorded losses of ₹751 crore, with 31 flash floods, 22 cloudbursts, and 17 landslides reported. Over 90 fatalities have occurred, including 56 in rain-related incidents, prompting urgent restoration efforts to reconnect affected areas and support economic recovery, particularly for farmers in Mandi.
