More than 38,600 people have been moved to safer locations and over 5,500 stranded residents have been rescued as Gujarat continues extensive relief and rescue operations following heavy rainfall and flooding across several districts. Emergency response teams, including the Indian Army, Indian Air Force, and Indian Coast Guard, have been deployed to assist state authorities in managing the situation. Officials said rescue efforts remain active as rainfall continues to affect parts of the state.

According to the State Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC) in Gandhinagar, a total of 38,653 people have been evacuated to safer places during the ongoing monsoon response, while 5,547 people have been rescued from flood-affected areas. The Gujarat government has deployed 49 teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) across the state to handle emergencies and provide immediate assistance to affected communities.

The Indian Army has stationed six teams in Gujarat, with two teams each deployed in Ahmedabad, Navsari, and Valsad districts. The Indian Air Force is carrying out rescue operations in Vadodara, while the Indian Coast Guard is conducting aerial surveys of flood-hit areas in Navsari, Valsad, and Tapi districts. Coast Guard teams are also continuing evacuation operations in Bilimora and Gandevi, where rising water levels have left several residents stranded.

Heavy rainfall has continued to impact parts of north and central Gujarat, leading to waterlogging and disruption in several areas. The SEOC reported significant rainfall in multiple locations, including Deodar and Bhabhar in Banaskantha district, Dhansura in Aravalli, Lilia in Amreli, and Santalpur in Patan. Rescue operations have continued in affected regions, with SDRF teams assisting residents in villages including Pandor in Valsad district and Dharampuri in Navsari district.

Several local rescue operations were carried out as rainfall created dangerous conditions across districts. In Ahmedabad district, three people trapped in rainwater at Chaloda village in Dholka taluka were rescued by the local administration with SDRF assistance. In another incident, 20 passengers stranded inside a bus between Sarbhat and Badarkha villages were evacuated using a tractor. The Coast Guard also launched an operation in Meghar village of Gandevi taluka in Navsari to shift affected residents to safer locations.

Authorities said relief and rescue operations will continue as emergency agencies monitor the evolving weather conditions across Gujarat. Director General of Police Gyanendra Singh Malik is scheduled to visit the State Emergency Operations Centre in Gandhinagar to review the situation and assess ongoing efforts in the affected districts. Officials have urged residents to follow safety advisories and cooperate with rescue teams working in flood-affected areas.
