Former President Ram Nath Kovind inaugurated the new premises of KingMakers IAS Academy in Anna Nagar, Chennai, on September 21, 2025, emphasizing its role in fostering nation-builders from diverse backgrounds. The evening event at 6:00 PM also featured Member of Parliament G.K. Vasan, president of Tamil Maanila Congress and former Union Minister for Shipping, as the guest of honour. Addressing an audience of civil servants, faculty, and UPSC aspirants, Kovind described the inauguration not merely as the opening of a physical structure but as a commitment to empowering youth for public service. This expansion aligns with the academy's growth amid rising demand for quality civil services coaching in southern India.
Kovind commended the academy's 12-year legacy, highlighting its production of over 1,000 civil servants, including two All India toppers, five Tamil Nadu toppers, and N.L. Beno Zephine, India's first 100% visually challenged Indian Foreign Service officer. "Today, we are not just inaugurating a new building of bricks and mortar. We are laying the foundation of dreams, dedication, and determination," he stated. He praised KingMakers for uplifting students from rural and socially disadvantaged communities, reflecting a broader vision of inclusive education that bridges urban-rural divides. Such success stories underscore the academy's impact on India's administrative framework, where civil services play a pivotal role in policy implementation and governance.
Drawing inspiration from Indian luminaries, Kovind quoted Mahatma Gandhi: "The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others," urging aspirants to view civil services as a mission rooted in integrity and empathy rather than a mere career. He echoed Swami Vivekananda's exhortation to "Arise, awake, and stop not till the goal is reached," motivating the gathering to persevere amid the rigors of UPSC preparation. These remarks resonate in a competitive landscape where over 1 million candidates appear annually for the civil services exam, with success rates below 1%, making institutions like KingMakers vital for structured guidance.

With branches spanning Chennai, Madurai, Trichy, Coimbatore, Namakkal, Salem, Pondicherry, and Thanjavur, the academy is expanding its reach to nurture talent across Tamil Nadu and beyond. As India marks its 78th year of Independence, such initiatives highlight the ongoing need for diverse, merit-based public administration to drive equitable development.
