A father-son duo, Mangesh Narkar and Parth Narkar, allegedly assaulted two traffic policemen, Hanumant Sangle and Shesh Narayan Atre, in Nalasopara’s Pragati Nagar, Palghar district, on Tuesday morning around 10 a.m. near Sitara Bakery. The incident, captured in a viral video, shows the pair pushing and kicking the officers, causing injuries, after a dispute over the son’s lack of a driving license while riding a scooter.
The altercation began when Sangle and Atre stopped Parth for a license check. When he failed to produce it, he called his father, leading to a heated argument that escalated into a physical brawl. The Tulinj Police Station registered an FIR against the duo under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for assault and obstructing public servants. No arrests have been made, but police are analyzing CCTV footage and the viral video to confirm details.
The incident has sparked outrage on social media, with posts condemning the attack and raising concerns about the safety of on-duty police. Authorities have promised strict action, and the investigation continues to determine the full circumstances of the assault.
