A tragic road accident in Faridabad on New Year's Day, January 1, 2026, claimed the life of a 25-year-old man and left four others injured when a Maruti Suzuki Baleno carrying five friends overturned after a tire burst. The group, all graduation students from Faridabad's Jawahar Colony, had left home around 3:00 am to celebrate the New Year with a planned visit to Vrindavan. The victim has been identified as Saransh, while the injured are Lakshya, Raghav, Tushar, and Yatharth.
According to police, Saransh was driving the car with Lakshya seated in the front passenger seat and the other three in the rear. The incident occurred after the vehicle crossed the Neelam Flyover, near Bata Metro Station, when one of the tires suddenly burst. The driver lost control, the car hit a roadside grill, crashed into a divider, and overturned. The impact shattered the windows, and Saransh was thrown out of the vehicle, suffering fatal head injuries. The three rear-seat passengers sustained serious injuries, while Lakshya escaped with minor ones.
Passersby rushed to the scene and helped rescue the trapped occupants before emergency services arrived. The injured were immediately taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Central Police Station in-charge Randhir confirmed that Saransh's body was handed over to his family after the post-mortem. A case has been registered, and the police are investigating the exact cause of the tire burst and any contributing factors, including possible overspeeding or mechanical failure.
