The Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS), operated under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, have launched a significant recruitment initiative to fill 7,267 teaching and non-teaching positions across India. Aimed at enhancing educational opportunities for tribal students, EMRS provides free residential schooling from Class 6 to 12 in remote areas. The online application process began on September 19, 2025, and will conclude on October 23, 2025, exclusively through the official website, nests.tribal.gov.in. This drive addresses staffing needs in over 400 EMRS institutions, supporting the government's push for inclusive education under the National Education Policy.
The vacancies span various roles, including 225 for principals, 1,460 for Postgraduate Teachers (PGTs), 3,962 for Trained Graduate Teachers (TGTs), 635 for hostel wardens, 550 for female staff nurses, 61 for accountants, 228 for junior secretariat assistants (clerks), and 146 for lab attendants. Eligibility criteria vary by position: principals require a master's degree, a B.Ed., and 8-12 years of experience; PGTs need a master's with a B.Ed.; TGTs must have a bachelor's degree, a B.Ed., and a CTET qualification. Non-teaching posts demand specific qualifications, such as nursing diplomas or commerce degrees. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, with upper age limits up to 55 years depending on the role and category relaxations.
Application fees are structured by category and post. General, OBC, and EWS candidates pay Rs 2,500 for principal positions, Rs 2,000 for PGTs and TGTs, and Rs 1,500 for non-teaching roles. SC, ST, female, and PwBD applicants pay a uniform Rs 500. Payments can be made via debit/credit cards, net banking, UPI, or e-challan. The selection process involves a written examination, skill or practical tests where applicable, interviews for certain posts, document verification, and a medical exam. Exam dates and admit cards will be announced on the official site.

To apply, candidates should visit nests.tribal.gov.in, register with personal details to generate credentials, log in to complete the form with academic information and preferences, upload required documents like photos and signatures, pay the fee, and download the confirmation. Officials advise reading the notification thoroughly, as no edits are permitted post-submission, and using a strong password while logging out securely to avoid unauthorised access.
