Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Thursday chaired a high-level review meeting at the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) headquarters in the national capital to assess issues related to the evaluation process and post-result services for Class 12 examinations. The meeting comes amid concerns raised over the CBSE’s post-result operations and technical glitches reported on its services portal. The minister reviewed the functioning of the examination system and emphasised the government’s commitment to ensuring a smooth and student-friendly assessment process.
During the meeting, the Union Minister stressed the need to strengthen student support systems and improve the overall evaluation and monitoring framework. He also called for upgrading the CBSE’s digital infrastructure to make examination-related services more accessible, efficient, and transparent. Pradhan directed officials to ensure that all student-related issues are addressed promptly and in a manner that prioritises transparency, accountability, and fairness in the examination ecosystem.
Officials informed the minister that nearly 18 lakh students appeared for the Class 12 examinations this year, with approximately 98 lakh answer sheets and nearly 40 crore scanned pages processed during evaluation. They also noted that around four lakh students have already accessed nearly 11 lakh scanned answer sheets through the online portal. The scale of the process, officials said, highlights the importance of maintaining a robust and stable digital system to manage high-volume academic data and student services.

The minister also reviewed complaints regarding technical difficulties on the post-examination services portal, including login failures, heavy server load, and payment-related issues. He directed that these challenges be resolved on priority to prevent inconvenience to students and parents. To strengthen the system, an expert technical team, including specialists from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras), has been tasked with assessing server performance, login stability, and payment gateway integration to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
Pradhan reiterated that the interests of students remain the government’s highest priority and warned that any negligence in the examination or evaluation system would invite strict action. He assured that no lapses, whether technical or administrative, would be tolerated and stressed the need for continuous improvement in CBSE’s digital and operational processes. The meeting was attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Education, CBSE, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, and representatives from several public sector banks, including the State Bank of India, Indian Bank, Bank of Baroda, and Canara Bank.
The review is seen as part of the government’s broader effort to modernise examination governance and strengthen trust in India’s school education assessment system, particularly as digital platforms play an increasingly central role in handling large-scale academic operations.
