Delhi’s public transport is set to get a major upgrade with a new metro link connecting Lajpat Nagar to Saket G Block under Phase-4 of the Delhi Mass Rapid Transport System, announced Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) on July 29, 2025. This Rs 447.42 crore project, the first Delhi Metro venture for the Railways Ministry’s PSU, promises to deliver sustainable and efficient urban mobility within 36 months.
Spanning a 7.298 km elevated viaduct, the project includes seven elevated stations: Saket G Block, Pushp Vihar, Saket District Centre, Pushpa Bhawan, Chirag Delhi, GK-1, Andrews Ganj, and Lajpat Nagar. RVNL’s scope covers the design and construction, marking its growing role in urban transport infrastructure.
“This is a landmark opportunity for RVNL to shape Delhi’s future-ready infrastructure,” said Pradeep Gaur, RVNL’s Chairman and Managing Director. “We’re committed to delivering with excellence, safety, and innovation, aligning with DMRC’s vision for world-class urban mobility.” RVNL is already executing metro projects in eight other Indian cities, solidifying its expertise.
