A woman from Delhi has sparked widespread discussion on social media after sharing a humorous video highlighting the everyday challenges of working from home. In the video, she described how remote employees are often not taken as seriously as those who commute to an office and are frequently expected to manage household responsibilities during working hours. The video was shared on Instagram by Heena Dogra, who compared her work-from-home routine with that of her brother, who travels to an office every day. According to Dogra, although her brother earns less than she does, he receives greater respect at home because he dresses formally and leaves for work. She humorously remarked that people working remotely often receive "less respect than a daily-wage worker" because family members assume they spend the day relaxing at home rather than performing professional duties.

Dogra said her workday frequently extends from 9 am to 9 pm, significantly longer than her brother's conventional office schedule. Despite these extended working hours, she claimed she is still expected to help with household chores and other responsibilities. She added that some family members question whether she is actually paid for working from home, believing that she spends only a small amount of time on her laptop before receiving her salary.

Whenever guests visit, she said she is expected to pause her meetings and serve them tea, water and biscuits because relatives believe that working from home offers greater flexibility. Dogra added that even her friends assume remote work is easy and relaxing, whereas she feels it often leaves her with little separation between work and personal life. She sarcastically concluded that it sometimes feels as though her employer had allowed her to work from home mainly so she could entertain guests.
