Cloudy skies and rain affected several parts of the national capital on Tuesday, with rainfall contributing to traffic disruptions in parts of Delhi-NCR. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light rain or drizzle in Delhi through August 17, indicating continued wet weather conditions across the region.
For Wednesday, the IMD has predicted generally cloudy skies with light rain or drizzle in the national capital. The minimum temperature is expected to settle at around 25 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature is likely to reach about 35 degrees Celsius, keeping conditions warm and humid despite the rainfall.
The weather forecast comes amid continued monsoon activity in Delhi and surrounding areas. Residents can expect overcast conditions and intermittent light rainfall over the coming days, while motorists may face slower traffic during periods of rain, particularly on busy roads and stretches prone to water accumulation.

Delhi's air quality remained in the satisfactory category on Tuesday, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) recorded at 78 at 4 pm, according to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). The capital has recorded satisfactory air quality on all 11 days of August so far, reflecting relatively favourable pollution conditions during the ongoing monsoon period.
The IMD had earlier reported that Delhi's cumulative rainfall for August up to August 10 stood at 230.5 mm. However, the weather office subsequently revised the figure to 197.2 mm, changing the recorded rainfall total for the month so far.
With light rain or drizzle forecast through August 17, Delhi residents are likely to continue experiencing cloudy and humid weather conditions. Commuters may need to account for possible traffic slowdowns during rainfall, while the latest IMD forecast indicates that the monsoon spell is expected to remain active over the capital in the coming days.
