Delhi Development Minister Kapil Mishra and Social Welfare Minister Ravindra Indraj Singh conducted a joint inspection of flood-affected regions from Palla to Hiranki on September 10, demonstrating the government’s commitment to supporting farmers devastated by recent floods. The inspection, directed by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, assessed the extensive damage to crops like vegetables and paddy caused by breaches in the Yamuna River embankments.

Mishra emphasized the government’s solidarity, stating, “We carried out a detailed survey to assess losses and reviewed relief measures, interacting with farmers and residents to understand the extent of the damage.” He highlighted the historic significance of two cabinet ministers jointly visiting the affected areas, underscoring the Delhi government’s resolve to provide adequate compensation. “We stand united with farmers in their time of hardship and will extend all possible assistance,” Mishra added.

Singh, visibly moved by the farmers’ plight, described the destroyed crops and damaged embankments as “deeply distressing.” He assured prompt relief, saying, “The government stands by the farmers. Relief will be provided to all affected families at the earliest.” The inspection team, including the district magistrate, sub-divisional magistrate, and officials from the agriculture and flood control departments, is working to expedite aid and ensure comprehensive support for the rural communities impacted by the disaster.
