Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta stole the show on Tuesday, showering flower petals on Kanwar Yatra pilgrims at the Shyamgiri Baba temple in Shastri Park, East Delhi, in a heartwarming display of devotion and hospitality. Joined by Culture Minister Kapil Mishra, Gupta personally applied tilak on the foreheads of women Kanwariyas, who carry sacred water to Lord Shiva temples during the holy month of Shravan.
“This government is the humble servant of Kanwariyas, who are both our duty and our blessing,” Gupta declared, as per an official statement from the CM’s office. Her administration has rolled out the red carpet for devotees, ensuring a seamless and sacred journey.
Gupta didn’t stop at gestures—she conducted a hands-on inspection of the Yatra route, prioritizing pilgrim safety and comfort. From enhanced security to well-managed pathways, the Delhi government has spared no effort. Kanwar camps across the city are equipped with electricity, food, clean water, medical supplies, and sanitation facilities, with financial aid provided to Kanwar Samitis to set up these havens.

“With religious organizations, we’ve created shelters, rest areas, health services, and refreshments, blending faith with public service,” Gupta said, emphasizing the government’s commitment to the pilgrims’ welfare.
Culture Minister Mishra called the Kanwar Yatra a vibrant celebration of India’s spiritual and cultural heritage. “Under CM Gupta’s leadership, this Yatra showcases devotion, service, and governance at its finest,” he said.
Delhi’s grand arrangements have transformed the Kanwar Yatra into a spectacular blend of faith and festivity, setting a new benchmark for devotion-driven governance.
